Project Manager (AV)
Flyspace Productions is a full-service, woman-owned event creative and management company and is a leading provider of AV production and event operations, delivering seamless experiences for clients through expert planning, technical execution, and outstanding customer service. We boast an in house AV operation including audio, video, lighting, rigging and truss, and staging including the largest fleet of Stageline mobile units in the country.
We are looking for a skilled Project Manager (Account Manager) to guide clients from inquiry through execution, ensuring high-quality event production and exceptional service. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, managing projects from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up. This role is primarily focused on events that heavily utilize AV production elements, ensuring that events are well-planned, technically sound, and exceed client expectations.
This is a full time, exempt role that requires in-office participation at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. The salary range for this role is $50,000-$62,000, commensurate with experience and skillset, and includes benefits such as unlimited PTO, healthcare with company contribution on your first day, 401(k), and more. The ideal candidate has a strong background in event production, experience in sales or project management, expert organizational and time management skills, and excellent client management abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the intake and onboarding of clients and projects, ensuring a seamless transition through the planning and implementation process and serve as the primary project point of contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and excellent customer service
- Oversee and direct the on-site execution and implementation of assigned events and projects, ensuring they align with company and client expectations
- Plan and coordinate events that are profitable, logistically sound, and align with client objectives
- Provide technical expertise to ensure estimates are achievable, including conducting site visits, surveys, reviewing drawings, and collaborating with the team for detailed planning and work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to advance projects and ensure accurate execution
- Coordinate with clients to develop and deliver estimates or bids in a timely manner and monitor change orders to ensure all modifications are properly documented and coordinated
- Assist with departmental administration, including reporting, forecasting, and financial planning in coordination with the Finance and Admin teams
- Work with the Logistics, Production, and Warehouse teams to properly allocate resources for upcoming projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering repeat business and positive referrals through a high level of customer satisfaction by providing proactive communication and solutions
- Directly supervise and direct at least one staff member as assigned to support team projects and serve as a mentor and leader, helping to develop and advance the team
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in event project management, sales or account management, preferably in a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Theater, Technical Production, or a related field preferred
- Industry or project management certification highly desired
- Strong technical knowledge of AV, lighting, staging, and production equipment with related, meaningful professional experience
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate timely and effectively in a friendly and professional way
- Demonstrable ability to create detailed estimates and project proposals based on realistic technical planning
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions on-site
- Ability to develop and foster relationships that support the goals of the company
- Experience with event production software and tools for estimating, project management, and scheduling is a plus
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings or weekends
- Must be over 18
- Must be legally permitted to work in the US for this employer
