Lighting Technician
About the Position:
The Lighting Technician is a member of our Production Team. The role requires extensive knowledge of installing Lighting Equipment in temporary venues, both indoor and outdoor. The ideal candidate has previous experience with controlled lighting systems, moving heads, power distribution, and familiar with mobile staging (Stageline experience preferred). The majority of this work will take place in Pittsburgh, PA with occasional travel as needed to show sites in the region. Pay rate is commensurate with experience, ranging from $20-$24 per hour, with opportunity for overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the deployment of, and maintenance of lighting and portable power.
- Work in the warehouse to prepare equipment as needed in the shop, and conduct quality control checks upon return.
- Directing the implementation of equipment during: transportation, load in, show, load out.
- Provide on-site technical expertise and oversight to program and operate consoles.
- Ensure all equipment and practices meet industry safety and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the maintenance, repair, and inventory of lighting and portable power equipment.
- Excellent adaptability and client service skills (verbal and written) to communicate effectively with clients and peers.
- Act as a Site-Lead if necessary.
- Assist other company departments as work demands require.
Candidate Qualifications & Competencies:
- Proven expertise as a Lighting Technician in live event production with a strong track record in various events.
- Proven expertise as an Entertainment Electrician in live event production with a strong track record in various events/installations.
- Familiarity with Chamsys consoles, network lighting systems, and portable power with low voltage.
- Perform on site lighting rigging and can identify compromised rigging hardware.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and low voltage wiring.
- Ability to read and understand a lighting plot.
- Ability to read and understand a power plan.
- Stay calm under pressure and resolve technical issues in real-time.
- Lead and direct technicians and stagehands (including Union/House crew) of varying abilities and experience across multiple disciplines.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with diverse teams.
- Can work independently as well as on a team.
- Professional understanding of the artistic process and the ability to work closely with clients, including artists, performers, and designers, in a diplomatic way.
- FLEX Inventory software knowledge is a plus.
- Lasso knowledge is a plus.
- Google Workspace knowledge is a plus.
- Operate a company owned vehicle including box trucks, pick up trucks, or cargo vans.
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain DOT medical clearance.
- CDL Class A is a plus - or willingness to acquire one.
- Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
