We are an event agency producing large scale public experiences, citywide and community festivals, and private, brand, and corporate events, supported by an integrated in house production division, hospitality team, and creative design team.

Our festivals are some of the most visible ways we bring that mission to life, and we are seeking an experienced Event Manager to join our team. As Event Manager, you are responsible for the systems, coordination, and execution that allow thousands of people to safely and seamlessly share an experience. When this role is done well, the event feels effortless to everyone else. This is a unique opportunity to creatively influence the way our guests gather and help create memories. 

This role exists to plan and execute event operations with precision, clarity, and accountability. You will own operational planning and on site execution for assigned projects. You will collaborate with internal teams, vendors, city partners, and public safety stakeholders. You will be trusted to make decisions in real time that protect the integrity, safety, and success of each event.
 

What This Role Does

The Event Manager's primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead operational planning for festivals, events, and projects, including site layouts, logistics, and run of show development
  • Coordinate cross functional teams to ensure alignment across internal support, vendors, and stakeholders and serve as the primary point of contact for clients
  • Manage timelines, documentation, and communication so all moving parts stay organized
  • Manage budgets and event finances, coordinating with the finance department, ensuring that projects meet fiscal goals
  • Oversee on site execution, ensuring setup, event flow, and breakdown meet Flyspace standards
  • Identify risks early and implement solutions that keep events running safely and smoothly
  • Build strong working relationships with vendors, city agencies, and partners
  • Supervise and support staff as needed


How This Role Shows Up

  • Your time is split between planning and execution.
  • Planning includes building timelines, managing finances, coordinating stakeholders, and organizing logistics.
  • Execution includes leading on site operations, directing and managing teams, managing clients and stakeholders, and solving problems in real time.
  • Some weeks are structured and planning focused. Others are fully driven by live events.
  • You will manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines
  • This role includes evenings, weekends, and extended hours during events
  • Work happens both in the office and on site. While we work to offer flexible scheduling as needed, this is an in-person role located in Pittsburgh, PA.

What You Should Already Have

You likely bring

  • Proven experience managing large scale events, festivals, or complex operational projects
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders
  • Clear and confident communication across diverse groups and mediums
  • Experience working with clients, vendors, public partners, or regulatory environments
  • The ability to lead staff and creative problem solving skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with site planning, permitting, or public event logistics
  • Familiarity with safety planning and crowd management principles
  • Familiarity with event related heavy equipment and AV production equipment (audio, lighting, etc)
  • Experience managing food and beverage as part of larger events
  • Previous experience managing direct reports
Requirements
  • Full time, exempt position
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds, climb, use hands, and 
  • Valid driver's license is required to operate any company vehicles, including off street vehicles and equipment
  • Must be over 18. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for this employer. 


What Success Looks Like

  • By 30 days, you understand Flyspace systems, active projects, and operational standards.
  • By 60 days, you are leading components of festival planning and coordinating stakeholders effectively.
  • By 90 days, you are independently managing operational execution for events and improving processes where needed.
